frequently asked questions

How do I clean my chrome grates or basin/bath waste?

If your chrome wastes are not regularly cleaned, small black spots will begin to appear and will spread across the surface of the waste. These spots are caused by airborne bacterial spores attaching to the chrome and multiplying across the waste. This especially occurs on wastes that don’t get a lot of use as there is minimal water flow to rinse it away. If this occurs, we recommend using a non-abrasive metal cleaner such as ‘Autosol’ to clean the surface. Bacteria and grime can also affect the performance of ‘Pop up’ waste mechanisms as they get clogged, so use the plug and clean the mechanism regularly.

For matte black finishes, you must dry with a soft cloth after each use and clean regularly (weekly) using a mild detergent, rinse with clean water and towel dry.

If you have any green / blue build up on your fittings, this is caused by the minerals in hard water combined with copper sulphate from your copper water pipes. We recommend regularly wiping over with a mixture of white vinegar and warm water using a non-abrasive cloth.

Regular cleaning with the correct materials and plenty of ventilation in your bathroom is the best way to prolong the life of your bathroom products. Please ensure you follow the recommended cleaning and maintenance procedures to ensure you don’t void your warranty.
